Maths Geekery of the Day

Whilst writing up my statistics notes, I found that I had helpfully annotated this:

“Continuous ‘includes’ discrete – …we will use the notation for continuous random variables… the results carry over to the discrete case”

with this:

“like the masculine ‘includes’ the feminine, except that this time it really does!”

This anecdote has been brought to you by Rachel’s brain, where maths and feminism collide.
