I tried to work but the Internet sucked me back in.
I was revising social policy, which I have an exam on tomorrow. And as an example of consensual measures of poverty there was a mention of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. So I had to look up exactly how they measure poverty. And then I read a child-researched (almost relevant) report on the connection between poverty and literacy. Which of course made me curious about other research done by children. I especially liked ‘Girls want to play too! Investigating the views of 9-11 year old pupils about mixed gender football’. Turns out, they support mixed gender football! Yay! And the two children who did the research are interested in issues of gender inequality, and thought about things like helping other kids who can’t read well filling in the questionnaire and are in general Very Cool.
And then I some-how ended up on The Hathor Legacy looking through all there ‘Links of great interest’ posts. There’s lots of interesting stuff there. Not at all relevant for with of my exams.
