Yay, web comics!
October 27, 2010
You may have noticed that I quite like web comics. And also, things which pass the Bechdel test. So I really like the comment thread at Geek Feminism Blog recommending web comics with awesome female characters. Riot Nrrd was the first one I thought of, but I also really love Girls with Slingshots. There are lots of things people have mentioned which I haven’t heard of, and which I shall probably turn to when next in a procrastinating mood.

I started on Devil’s Panties (ignore the spelling errors. The author knows she makes spelling mistakes, it’s something of a problem for her, and she’s pissed off about the number of people who e-mail to correct her (and justifiably so).) http://thedevilspanties.com/archives/4053
Jennie Breeden is also involved in Filthy Figments: Erotic Comics created by women.
There’s also Family Man, http://www.lutherlevy.com/ whose author has a delightful sense of humor: http://dylanmeconis.myshopify.com/products/revolutionary-hotties-print
Dar comics http://www.darcomic.com/ by Erica Moen.

This is exactly how I’m feeling right now:

I think it makes it worse that my boss sent it to me!
Ben – Thank you! I think I’ve heard of Devil’s Panties before, but not the other ones. I shall check them out.
Rach – I find the problem is that I go through a productive stage and e-mail everyone I owe e-mails to, and feel very smug and satisified. And then they reply! And I’m back to square 1 and have to do it all again. Same with cleaning and things getting dirty.
It’s a lot less effort just to not try to start with.
